Wanker: I could be wrong but I didn't notice CRC on the grid.
Oops, you're right.  I believe that I was mixing up who is going to SF with this festival.
CRC is not going to Kelowna.
A lot of the team was paddling in England last week and will be in San Francisco next week.
Watch out for Dragnum in Kelowna!

Will Humpty and Dumpty be making an appearance in Kelowna?

you tell us

There will be 6 6/16s total. The three 'scale' version of it from DZ were shipped up today. That leaves 3 more. Given there are at least a dozen better boats to use than Humpty and Dumpty, I don't think they will be there. But I guess only the FVDBC knows.

It looks like they are alternating races between the 6/16's and BUKs

Well at least we will know that the rounds with the BUK's will be fair seeing as they are all the same generation. But the rounds using the 6-16's is probably going to have some issues. But we shall see.....

Just to confirm yes there are going to be alternating rounds of BUK's and 6-16's in Kelowna.

By the way does anyone know if the Colin James concert is open for all ages? In the past the 54-40 concerts were open to all ages even though there was beer served. Now that I got a couple lil ones I wanted to be sure they were allowed in. And yes I know its probably gonna be loud but we will be back far enough so not to cause any problems for the kids!  Laughing

OMG Sunday was the super craziest weather ever!  Shocked

It was incredibly challenging, but everyone managed to do surprisingly well.

Congrats to the Mana Wahine women on their, I mean THE bling in the womens Platinum final. And thanx for helping us out when we were looking short. You are kick @ss paddlers

My hat goes off to the race management for the magic they pulled off to continue the event. Less hardy souls would have shut Sundays racing down, but these guys got creative as hell to ensure that racers got the chance to race. Clapping

Yep, Sunday sucked . . . a near repeat of Harrison caused by mother nature.  Basically, a weather front headed through the race site some 12 hours earlier than expected.  A good south-west wind on a southerly race course caused inability for boats to line up.  Races were delayed to about 90 minutes.  6/16 were used exclusively for a while as the BuK were too tippy in the wind.  Boats were drenched and the officials changed from 6-boat heats to 2-boat heats.  Cancellation of races, such as the consolation finals, so the festival could end at a decent time.  Weather improved by the afternoon.

Saturday was wonderful.  Hot temperatures, calm waters and efficient race organization.  Sunday, the race organizers were able to adapt and still have a festival.

Any case, here is a Saturday morning race, heat 12.
