Man, I am friggin beat and sunburnt like a crispy critter....(its what happens when u spend all day in a boat on a warm sunny day with only one layer of sunblock and every one and their grandma's wanting ride out to watch the races (Which I do not mind doing!)
AWESOME racing today and Kudso for some very hard working teams that medaled in Comp. IMHO i at first blamed the luck of the draw for some teams making it to comp but after seeing them race in the finals I realized a lot of teams really stepped it up and worked for their placings. Kudos to RGL for coming through when it counted, THe Eye for not giving up training hard, VO2 Max who we owned all year but kicked our a$$es in the final, Ruckus for also working hard PLUs other teams Ultimate, Phat ,Scotia and others! The old boys are feeling the heat as the new guard is emerging (Guido take note!)
Annnnywaayyyyys ,I am busy processing about 900 shots of everyone and anyone so I will be busy posting up more in a the next few days . I shared a lens with a buddy so he will probably be posting some up before me! (not going to give up his name as I forgot his Alias...)
It was nice to see paddler pix up here selling pics of the races on Saturday! They were really nice and worth the $$ (I can't believe they still shoot film!)
HEY! Where the heck is Photog!?!?!?
Here are some pics for now.....

guts and glory race runs all boats. heads removed for safety, which is a great idea seeing as my team got t-boned. If a head was sticking up and out it would have rammed our paddlers pretty bad.

i ran out of batteries 3 times, and eventually ran out of card space. i should really delete photos from last year.
I'll post some up sometime during the week as well.

Nice, is that the company Ken is a part of from SF? Glad to see DG ousted this year regardless.
I hope PP made some good sales and will return next year. As for them still shooting film, i will speculate that they did so in order to have prints ready for sunday morning, as that way, the miniprinters at the lab do all the color correcting on the fly instead of the photographers doing it on the pc's.
This year I got picked up as the entertainment photographer, so I was tethered to the stage area the entire weekend. I did, however, sneak away at times to take some race pics. Boy were there a lot of spectators with impressive equipment this year.

Sweet! being Paid to ake pictures...My dream.....
They did well (paddlerPix) and were scoping it out . They didn't sell any take or sell any pictures on Sunday (though Maybe i should have as I got lots!)
There definately a lot of Big cannons out this weekend (lots of Nikon < good for you!)
Got to play with PaddlerPix 400 2.8...Man that is big MF! But the pics are super sharp and Lightning fast. I borrowed it fro a couple of hours and took about a hundred shots and he borrwed my 100-400 IS. But he didn't want to swap! LOL
Post them up man! Want to see them!

hi photog
yes the paddlerpix peeps are my buds from down here in San Fran. it was the thread discussions from last year and the positive mentions we got from SF and long beach that PaddlerPix is expanding it's list of appearances.
i couldn't make it up to Alcan this year unfortunately as i have been a little busy taking care of madison our 7 month old bundle of joy. and yes we do take lots of pictures of her!
Also my team DieselFish didn't make the trip this year either as it takes a second year off from vancouver. I bet that we will be back next year.
PaddlerPix will be down in long beach, out a tampa for nationals, maybe back in CA for the calgary race, and at treasure island, san francisco (of course).
