The Dragon Ladies Dragon Boat team is looking for active and spirited women to join our competitive team! Paddling out of Granville Island, the Dragon Ladies is a medal-winning team, regularly placing in the top third of our division, often winning Gold. We are looking to expand with enthusiastic and committed members, regardless of paddling experience. You can find us online at
www.dragonladies20.comTry-outs will begin in February, with practices every Monday and Thursday evenings. Race season begins in May, with regattas at home and away, in such areas as Portland and Nanaimo. There are no fees to try out; you’ll have a number of practices to join us to see if the sport and our team is a good fit for you.
The team is comprised of an energetic group of ladies from all backgrounds, some who have been on the team for ten years, with new recruits excited to come again for their second year. We paddle hard and keep a lighthearted attitude, particularly in the beer gardens afterwards! We are coached by a world-champion paddler who drives the team to succeed in both skill and attitude.
