Hello Paddlers!

The California Dragon Boat Association (www.CDBA.org) has been proud to bring you exceptional racing run by paddlers for paddlers for over 20 years and is excited to continue this racing tradition at our brand new race site at Oakland’s Lake Merritt!  The 21st Annual Kaiser Permanente Northern California International Dragon Boat Festival will be held on September 17 & 18, 2016.  As we are moving from the San Francisco Bay to racing at this beautiful lake, our new site will provide ideal water conditions along with exceptional boat access for some great racing!

In addition to being an excellent race site, Lake Merritt will provide a beautiful backdrop for our festival as it is situated in the heart of Downtown Oakland, just minutes from Oakland's thriving, entertainment and restaurant scene that is easily reachable via both public transportation and major freeways.

The early-bird registration deadline has been extended July 22, 2016.  We have attached the Visiting Team Registration Package but please visit our website at www.SFDragonboat.com for race updates and information.
On behalf of the CDBA, we would like to thank you for your past and continued support as we could not have grown to become one of the premier dragonboat festival without the support and participation from visiting teams from all over the dragon boat world.  We hope you will join us for some good, hard racing and lots of fun in September!

Until then, paddles up!

This race course is not far from the old race site at Treasure Island.  The race site is close to Oakland Chinatown.

Hope to see you all there.  Don't forget to bring the Canadian Flags and our National Anthem (Not the Canadian Tenor - Rogue Version)

Hey Thanks Puppy, though since most folks know you better it make more sense to watch you doggy paddle around in the water for our entertainment!  Smiley with tongue out
