Some of you may have been a witness to an action of an inconsiderate/dangerous captain of a private charter company at this year's Concord Pacific Vancouver dragon boat festival.

This captain not only ignored our request to move away from an on coming active race but he tries to aim his larger boat into a race official boat - endangering our staff and hundreds of paddlers.

Please do not use this company for any of your of your personal events:

The owner has asked yelp to remove our negative comments.  Please continue to post to his Facebook and TripAdvisor account about how we felt about his actions.  He also claims that he was on a tight schedule  with other clients. What he failed to state is that he did not leave the docks after he returned.  Golden Eagle Charters does not care about others and is willing to jeopardize our paddlers safety.

Here is a comment from a yelp user:

We were very delighted to have found a captain that was confident that he owned the water his boat was on. When challenged by other users of the ocean, our captain rightly defended his right to cross a very public body of water. I mean, how entitled do you think these other boaters are? Just because your boat has a drum on it doesn't mean you're better than everyone else.

Next time we want to show other boaters the "rules of the road" we'll be sure to hire Cap'n Crunch.

The Captain's assertion that he was trying to stick to a schedule is pure BS.  Basically saying that just for the cameras to make himself look like the innocent one.  In any one time, there may be 4 aquabuses crisscrossing false creek and somehow they are able to stick to their schedule while this moron can't while only doing a few charters a day?  The G&G race had 14 teams staggered by 10 seconds.  That's 140 seconds or 2 minutes and 20 seconds.  From what I heard, it occurred at the beginning of the race which meant they were rounding the first turn close to the bridge.  The teams would have still been close together so the most he would have had to wait was 3 minutes.  In addition, the passengers would have had a great view of the boats rounding the corner something that would have added to his charter.

Nope, I think his actions were deliberate and for that reason he should be penalized greatly for it.  Also, a few weeks before the festival, the operator of Golden Eagle tried to lodge a complaint that we do not have the proper permits to stage the event.  The festival organizers had to pull out the permits obtained from Transport Canada.

Golden Eagle Charter boats is trying very hard to remove all pictures and comments about the incident from yelp, Facebook, TripAdvisor and twitter.  ...update....looks like he's back to a 5 star operator on yelp. He has successfully  removed all our comments
