Concert Properties has revealed its plans for a five residential building complex located at Southeast False Creek just immediately east of the Olympic Village.

The 6.4-acre site was formerly owned by TransLink and is bounded by Quebec Street to the east, 1st Avenue to the south, Ontario Street and the Olympic Village to the west and the False Creek seawall and Science World to the north.

The proposal will consist of one 18-storey building, two 15-storey buildings, one 14-storey building and one 12-storey building. In total, the complex will have a total floor area of 624,522 sq. ft. including 519,595 sq. ft. of market residential in four buildings and 104,927 sq. ft. of non-market affordable rental areas...

So is there another location that the RTA festival and regattas can take place? Parking will definitely be at a premium as soon as work begins in the area. The logistics and possible complications of running a smooth festival are piling up/stacking up against this being a possibility! Sigh... or am I just panicking for no real reason? However it was just a matter of time that they would develop the area. So how can Dragon Boat BC and RTA function with no real permanent facility??? I do see in the photo that the docks are still there and I assume the red trailer would still be there but what about all the vendors etc involved in the festivals??? Where can they all be set up? Where the big bird statues are? Is that enough? Where can we put the racers village? I have more questions than answers. But perhaps I am stressing for nothing...

Teamwork is so important that it is virtually impossible for the team to reach the heights of it's capabilities or achieve winning results without becoming very good at it. You must practice TEAMWORK as a team, not as individuals!

Plus there's no where for people to watch besides a little grandstand. Or room for a racer's village.

There is still the original Alcan Racer's Village site on the North side by Concord Pacific unless it is being used that weekend.

I wondering if there is any room to expand FCRCC to accomodate more teams?
