The times were odd for A Consolation. Lifescan and Ares were placing 52's and 51's.. when suddenly... bam!

Madame Starter backed us off the line and it just so happened that we got 'perfect alignment' - so she started us there instead of the at the real start line. Probably backed up a boat length and a bit?

Ya, that's what my steers and drummer said. I was too 'dialed in' to notice
Must have been pretty far back, like you said. 4-5 seconds difference!

Yes, I did start that race about 1.5 boatlengths back but the alignment was amazing and I knew it was a final therefor would not affect advancements. I forgot about overall comparisons so I agree it might look a little suspect but ..... Now you know why.
