Hello,
I am a 28 year old female possibly looking to join a team. I live in the Kits point area so somewhere close to there would be great! I have no experience so I am looking for a team that would be patient with me and teach me the ropes. This seems like a really great team sport and a fun, exciting way to stay in shape and meet people. Thank you for your time!

Hi.

I don't know how to say this to you but this is pretty late in the season to get started training. Most teams start in late February or early March. By now they are perfecting their strokes and race strategies as the BIG race is in less than 2 weeks time. Good luck to you though...

Teamwork is so important that it is virtually impossible for the team to reach the heights of it's capabilities or achieve winning results without becoming very good at it. You must practice TEAMWORK as a team, not as individuals!

A good time to possibly find/join a team is after Alcan (which you should attend as it's a fun and exciting event). Some local teams "restart" after Alcan and will be preparing for other big races that occur later in the season such as Victoria or Kelowna.
