Nothing appears to be available yet.

Is Magnum racing in Kelowna, or are a bunch of you teaming up with How Wet Can You Get again ?

I heard a rumour that there are either 57 or 59 mixed teams registered. But no race grid out yet so I can't confirm.

Nah, the three paddlers that joined How Wet You Can Get was a one-time thing for the Last Gasp. Magnum will be going with their regular roster to Kelowna and so will How Wet You Can Get.. But I think they're still looking for some paddlers to fill a seat or 2 for Kelowna. I think there's a thread about it somewhere here.

Until the official race grid is available on the Kelowna website, let's call THIS the unofficial race grid for Kelowna 2009. As with all "unofficial" race grids, please check for an official one with the festival before the weekend starts.

29 teams in the Womens Division and 57 in Mixed from what I can see on this race grid.

Hot DANG!
It looks tougher than Alcan!
Some big boys there for the year ender!
If everyone comes with their full rosters (or supplemented with FCRCC and other Paddlers....) it will make for a very interesting qualifying semi and platinum Final!

Me too I am getting the jitters. I haven't paddled in 3 years! YIKES!!!  Shocked

Well either way if I can do the full 500 meters and not cough up a lung that is a victory in itself for me!

Ummm I thought it was a secret but what the heck... I will be a member of the CC SIPR crew.

OK now the secret's out! Please no bashing as we are just a throw together crew. No expectations is the last thing I heard. Right cookie?  Smile

No expectations???

It looks like the race organisers have some as they appear to have ranked you in the top-tier of teams placing you in lane 3 in your opening heat.

As for not racing in 3 years... I sure hope they have a defibrillator on hand  Very Happy

Out of curiosity, who's part of this team?  Here's my guess.

CC = Crewz Control
SI = Sudden Impact
PR = Pacific Reach

Yea that is a good thing to have on hand as I might be needing a defib!  Laughing

As for expectations, well even the race grid dude can make a mistake can't he? Maybe I should say I don't have expectations but for those of you who know me know that I race to win and... well the partying takes 2nd place in my mind after all the racing is done! It should be fun regardless because I have been coaching/steering for the past 3 years with hardly any paddling. I tend to forget how hard we need to paddle for the short 2 or so minutes that we need in order to get the results we all desire.

man, that's a tough field, indeed.

I'd say that Without Warning/Master/Navy will take the field easily at a glance, but any knows which other teams have picked up formidable ringers?
