I’ve been involved with Dragon-boat racing for 9 years and paddle with Phat Phish.

You may be familiar with the Paddle for Kids event.

In case you haven’t, I’ve included a description of the event below.  This is an opportunity for me to combine what I love to do for fun and help sick kids.

I have volunteered to participate in this event in support of BC Children’s Hospital.

As a volunteer and participant, I am trying to raise funds for BC Children’s Hospital and I am hoping you might be able to assist me in reaching my fundraising goal.

I have created a link to a donation page.  If you are able to make a donation, your help truly is appreciated.

www.bcchf.net/pfk/main.cfm?pfk=Veronica

Tax receipts are automatically issued only for amounts of $20 or more.  This link will allow you to use a credit card to make donating easier.  This is a secured site.

Any contributions made are greatly appreciated no matter what the size.

There are options to make donations anonymously.

What is Paddle for Kids?
PFK is your chance to put smiles back where they belong! This fun-filled corporate and community event is an adult-oriented, non-competitive dragon boat fundraiser, where experienced paddlers and beginners compete together. Teams of 20 to 24 paddlers fundraise with proceeds benefiting the Excellence in Child Health Fund at BC Children's Hospital.

This fund supports urgent needs including new equipment, clinical care, research, and educational programs. Today the need is greater than ever! Plans are underway to build a new Children's Hospital on the current site. This Hospital will be a state-of-the-art facility that will help BC's children and their families well into the future. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help future generations.

Originally hosted by BC Hydro, Paddle for Kids continues to grow as it enters its 11th annual year. Last year, PFK hosted over 500 paddlers and raised over $75,000 for BC Children's Hospital. Let's make this year's event our biggest, and best yet!

2008 Event Recap

THANK YOU!  The 10th annual Paddle for Kids dragon boat event, in support of BC Children's Hospital, raised an impressive $78,611.00. Over 650 paddlers, volunteers and spectators joined together for a day filled with fun and excitement.

Thank you for reading this and for your support!

Sincerely,

Veronica
