This just keeps getting better! Laughing
Yeah people revealing their real identities n' stuff. I guess if paddle boy is that sensitive about losing, he better stay in DBing. The humbling experience of further competition against far deeper fields of outrigger paddlers might do him some good, though.

Actually James I race outrigger as well ,both oc6 and oc1 and maybe 1 day you'll get a shot at me but so far I don't think we have competed against each other and I truely enjoy good competition so if I see your name on the race list I'll come and introduce myself . I'll be on my hurricane or my pegasus so it shouldn't be to hard to figure me out  Shifty
If you've raced outrigger w/ the sprint crew, then I probably have raced against you. In 2007, we won the Lotus Iron, but then got smoked by you guys in Gibson's and Canadian Champs. Last year, all I raced was the Gorge. We came in 3rd behind Calvin and Shane et al. I haven't raced an oc1 race since last year's Bowen Island challenge, where I was middle o' the pack.

Ummm can a moderator change the subject heading of the last few posts? I don't see how it is related to Alcan results of this year.

Fun reading though just not relevant to the topic at hand.

Thanks all!

Jim

Go back to OC Paddler.com  and stop trying to stir up crap on this board .I already said congrats to Kai in person and they know that ,I don't need to respond to you but its been fun poking you . Have a great racing season !

You should try DB ,it may make you a better paddler and crosstraining is always a good thing ; )
It's way funner stirring up crap w/ a new crowd. I'd like to try DBing, but hell, we can hardly get six guys to gether for practice. How do you guys do it? If you no like respond, then no respond, braddah. You're a smug bastard, but that can be a good thing for a young paddler!

My apologies to any in the Dragon Boating community I may have offended. As you know, we outriggerists will occasionally attempt to disparage our fellow paddlers from the DB world. My bad! I reckon it's all paddling, and it's all good, right?

It's always great to be sitting in the office and get phone calls about the website...

I've split out the whole paddleboy/Kaohao "debate" out the Alcan thread... Hope you guys don't mind the topic header I chose. It's all in good fun.

Kaohao - Welcome to DBW. Hope to see you around on the site as well as at outrigger events.

paddleboy - Play nice.

Okay, Special K is chiming in. I am Paddleboy's sister, Kelli, and might I say I sometimes don't always like to reveal that  Shocked!

Since I didn't race on a team this year I did get to watch the final men's heat and I think I know where Kaohao is coming from regarding congratulating each other. From my view point (yes, in the beer garden) I noticed after the race the Kai team seemed to be waiting by the dolphin markers, perhaps waiting for FCRCC to paddle by to congratulate them. I too was expecting FCRCC to stop and see a congratulations/high five between to the two boats, would have made for a nice pic (I had my camera ready), but I think FCRCC did not notice that they were waiting and continued to the docks. Now I could be totally wrong regarding this.

I paddled with FCRCC for two years and the entire clan is great and full of sportsmanship. Now regarding Paddleboy, what can I say...

Cheers,

Kelli aka Special K

FCRCC's a hyper competitive bunch that's gearing up for probably the biggest tournament of their lives half way across the world.  I'm sure they were reflecting on what just happened.  Kai probably did them a favour in the build up before Prague, they'll be working harder than they would have if they had won

I am not sure how this all got turned into the FCRCC did not congrat Kai thread ........did I miss something along the line ?

We all spoke after and high five'd ,shook hands ,said "great race" , patted each other on the ass  Rolling Eyes laughed together during the pre race marshalling for the Guts ....what more do you want ,lol

not sure where lil sis is going with this one .........

We are all friends and will continue to be for many Alcan's to come.  I think that Kamini's special pink drink offering after the race was enough said.  We know that FCRCC is gearing up for Prague and wanted to try to give them a run for their money... that was the goal!

I do want to mention that whom ever bought those shots at the paddlers party made it a long drive home the next day.  Paybacks are a B&*^h Smile  See you next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
