Thanks for the grid....
So, correct me if I'm wrong, we all get one race in BUK's and one in 6/16's and advancement is then based on cumulative time ...
Last question.... Does anybody know who these Puppy Love people are???

Wasn't the admission included for paddlers? I thought it was in the past?

Teamwork is so important that it is virtually impossible for the team to reach the heights of it's capabilities or achieve winning results without becoming very good at it. You must practice TEAMWORK as a team, not as individuals!

Be very aware of the Puppy Love crew. I heard it from one of the crew member's mouth last night they are going to be a team to contend with. Right Ben?
Lets see what happens in their first race and decide for yourselves.

Does anybody (Bernman?) know where the 6/16's in use are coming from?
Will Barney be there?
What about those two god awful Fraser Valley boats?

Looking from the race grid, there's plenty of tough competitions out there, it should be exciting!
Puppy love dragons = FCRCC? + outrigger guys? + ??
(Since they are seeded to win the first round, they could be a dark horse)
Does the team name have anything to do with Kerry? Is Kerry paddling/steering for them? Is Kerry their mascot? lol

The 6/16s are two from DZ and three from Kelowna. Barney will not make an appearance (from what they have told me).
Puppy Love is a mixture of Swordfish, E&C and others (including Puppy from what I heard).

Basically, now we have a team devoted entirely to dunking puppy?

So the expected scenario would be this then:
Lose, dunk puppy...win, dunk puppy..
Either way, show the puppy some love, give it a much needed shower!

Is the grid light about 20 mixed teams over last year? More beer for us.
Will Maha Wahine be reprising their boat-beaching skills?

if given the opportunity we would LOVE to beach a boat again.....so much fun!
but we are hoping mother nature will cooperate this year and we won't need to run those beautiful BUK's off the lake in favor of the hulking 6/16's...
fingers crossed and paddles up!
see you all in kelowna tonight

Here's an update on how Kelowna has been going
1st round summary of Kelowna.
Womens Division
Fastest BuK - Fire On Water (2:18.80)
Fastest 6-16 - Mana Wahine (2:20.15)
Mixed Division
Fastest BuK - Navy Dragon Anchors (2:04.35)
Fastest 6-16 - Calgary Dragon Boat Club Crew Yahoo (2:07.19)
2nd round summary
Womens Division
Fastest BuK - Mana Wahine (2:17.03)
Fastest 6-16 - Fire On Water (2:17.31)
Mixed Division
Fastest BuK - RGL United (2:08.71), very questionable...
Fastest 6-16 - Navy Dragon Anchors (2:05.10)
Mother Natuire has been kind to us and gave us great weather. Was pretty cold in the morning but warmed up in the afternoon. There was some tailwind in the late morning but the winds died down in the afternoon. Races have been moving pretty smoothly with very little incidents.
There were a couple boats that lost control. Shagging Dragons Reloaded had the worst one of the day.
Also, thoughts go out to the steerswoman that had that accident with the steering oar. I heard that she was a trooper in light of the situation. Hope she gets well soon and will return to the sport once she's fully healed.
