Thanks for the plug rmontagna....
Gung Haggis Fat Choy dragon boat team emphasizes cultural inclusivity...
which could include ethnic or sexual orientation... because culture is a social construct.
We have put dragon boats, Chinese Lion masks, and a Chinese parade dragon in Vancouver's St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Some of our male paddlers wear kilts while paddling, or in the beer garden - because they understand it's the women who wear the pants (or mini-kilts) on this team!
We have been featured in TV documentaries in Europe on German Public television, and globally on French public television, as well as nationally on CBC Newsworld.
We have raced in Portland OR, Seattle WA, Victoria BC, Kelowna BC, Harrison BC, and Cultus Lake.
Our next races will be in Vernon BC, and the Vancouver Taiwanese DB Race.
We are still deciding about Victoria or Kent WA for this year....
Oh... and we have also managed to win medals too. Vancouver, Portland, Victoria and Vernon...
Our practice times are:
Sunday 1:30
Tuesday 6pm
