My team, Fluid Motion, is heading to the San Francisco Dragonboat Festival on the weekend of September 21 to 23 and are looking for paddlers to fill our boat. We will be paddling in the Rec division with a possibility of joining up with another Vancouver-based team to participate in the Women's and Men's challenges as well...so lots of paddling over the weekend.

If you are interested in joining our team for this festival, please respond to this post as soon as possible.

Thanks.

Hey there,

I have sent a message to Draco's membership yesterday, but have not yet had a favourable reply.

What kinds of fees are involved in participating with your crew for this race? How are most of the crew getting down there? As in any road trips or flights info. Any ideas would be very welcomed please!

Thanks,

Teamwork is so important that it is virtually impossible for the team to reach the heights of it's capabilities or achieve winning results without becoming very good at it. You must practice TEAMWORK as a team, not as individuals!

The cost for guest paddlers is $30 CAD which will go towards the festival fee.

Each person is responsible for getting themselves to SF by Friday night (some members are heading down on Thursday). At the time of this post, the lowest posted rate for flights flying out of Vancouver on Friday, returning Monday is $420 incl taxes and fees (according to Travelocity.ca). You might be able to find better deals on your own.

We have a few rooms booked at Hotel Parc 55 and would be able to accommodate some of our guest paddlers. Cost would be shared based on the number of people in the rooms.

One thing to remember...you will need to have a valid passport or you might run into problems trying to get through US customs at the airport.

Hope this information helps. Let me know if you have any further questions.
