Alright, who wants to paddle for free at the Taiwanese festival this weekend?

Draco has entered a boat, paid fees and all that good stuff, but for various reasons we have lost 1/2 a boat's worth of paddlers over the past week or two.   Sad  Actually it's gotten so bad that we are down to our steersperson and maybe 6-8 paddlers!  The remaining people would like to paddle as they have booked flights, accomodation, etc.

So I come to you today with a plea for paddlers.  We'll take anyone.   HELP! Razz If you or someone you know would be willing to paddle this weekend, please let me know.

We are a team from Calgary and these days are more of a recreational team (although only 4 years removed from clocking 2:05 in 500m).  While we intend to rebuild, the "fun" aspect is something that we never want to lose.  You'll often see us in the beer gardens, wearing our loud shirts:

Excellent!  You were our next-door tentmates at the Calgary fest, IIRC.

Yep, hope we were good neighbours  Cool  I unfortunately only know how to steer and wear goofy outfits at festivals so I will be no help.

LOL, I will see if our steersman (the chief crap-disturber as puppy may remember) is hauling his weaponry with him.  I think he's actually riding his motorcycle out there.  Maybe the weather will be suitable for some shenanigans.

make sure he leaves his little "pistol" in calgary or else, we will throw him in the False Creek Water.

Actually we're VERY friendly...we're known for our friendliness...and our copious amounts of drinking in the beer garden.   Very Happy

We have a few possibilities at this point, but can probably fit in at least 6 guys.  Have to leave some room for the ladies too.   Razz

I'll keep this updated as we find committed numbers.

I've contacted anyone I know that would be interested in helping you out.  They will get in touch with you, but it appear to be a bad weekend (for last minute recruitment).  Hope you can fill the boat.

Bumping.  Anyone?  While we've had some verbal interest, there are still no committed paddlers at this point.   Pray

Edit:  I'm on my way out the door now, so won't be able to respond to further e-mail communication.  I'll be onsite around 8am on Saturday.  Sounds like we will have help from a mish-mash of various people.  Should still be fun.  Good racing to everyone, and thanks to those who've tried to drum up some help for our team!
