WOW! What happened to the big guns like Gorging or Dragonauts? Or some other island top teams? I guess I either don't know who everyone is or there are new names unfamiliar to me. But my guess is that Eye of the Dragon will definitely be in the top final and the rest I can not comment on. Regrettably. Sad

We (Dragonauts) will be there.  We are in Mixed Round Heat 7 at 10:00am.

The GD's have about half their team doing the CORA International Howe Sound Outrigger Iron Race in Gibsons that weekend.

There are several of the top island teams going. As mentioned the Dragonauts will be there as will Extreme Reach, Navy and PI. All strong teams. There is the potential for an all Victoria final.

I guess I gotta get my eyes checked by my optometrist ASAP. Sorry about missing the other teams! My bad. Good luck to all you top guns but don't write off the Eye of the Dragon. They are an amazing group!

It looks like they have the most of the top teams seated (lane 3).

Dragonauts, PI, Navy, Xtreme Reach, Eye of the Dragon.

One fast team not seated is Extreme Currents. They were Platinum here last year.

In case you haven't heard, all the race times have been bumped up by 30 minutes on Saturday. At this time, I'm not sure if the times on Sunday have been changed.

If you are thinking about going to the Paddlers' party...DO IT! The band Wunderbread is playing and they are awesome. It should be fun!

Just trying to clear up any confusion.  The race schedule is as posted on the nanaimodragonboat.com website.  There will not be any changes to the race start times prior to racing on the weekend.  We begin at 9 am on Saturday and 8 am on Sunday.  Steersperson meeting at 8:15 am on Saturday morning.

You can expect as always to be ahead of schedule following the first race, but that is how it always is.

I have this from a higher source that this is the final word on race schedule changes etc.

See you at the festival, should be a fun one yet again this year.

I apologize! Confused I think there was a misinterpretation by our team. The race grid is correct. Sorry for the miscommunication!

Thanks for the clarification, Slayer!
