National Club Crews - Teams competing

Just looking at the list of teams registered to compete in Calgary for NCC in Premier mixed....
FCRCC
Calgary Race Club
Montreal DBC
Gorging Dragons
Para Huti Huti
Without Warning
It'll be interesting to see if Pac Reach registers or not. Does anyone know (or heard thru the rumour mill) if any other teams from back East plan on making an appearance?
It's not often where we get the opportunity to race against the Eastern teams. If given the chance, it would be fun!

Never give a match up halfway through. Never say that you do not feel up to it, that your condition is bad, and throw in the towel. Fight to the very end, always looking for your chance to break through.

Yep....the Masters are entering as a premier team and adding some youth to their roster and are talking they are going to take out FCRCC ........... could this happen ??
Not sure we will see any other eastern teams as TO is the center of the universe and they very rarely travel outside although ScotiaRouge was just in Hong Kong and placed third losing to Macau & Philippine police

They're suppose to be the best team out of Edmonton. Last year when we were in Calgary, they finished in Div A consolation. Not sure if that was their strongest crew they were fielding.
In 2005 we were suppose to race them in the Club Crew qualifiers but they withdrew. They were staying at the same hotel we were. We asked them why they withdrew and they indicated that they couldn't race both the CC qualifiers and the regular festival so they decided to focus on just the festival. They finished 2nd overall to the Calgary Race Club I believe in the regular regatta.
From what I have seen from them the last 2 years, I don't think they'll challenge FCRCC, Gorging or Montreal, but I expect they'll be competitive and put up a good fight.

Right Masters, yeah, they've got the Masters spot by acclamation already and are going to compete in the Premier Mixed to get more battle-hardened.

They were 3 seconds off the winning time from the A division winners.
In Lethbridge, they got disqualified in the A finals because they didn't follow the race directors' instructions and went around the wrong side of the island.
Of course that was last year - only they know if they have a better or worse team this season.

We'll find out next weekend...we will be racing them in this year's Lethbridge Festival on July 7-8. The top Calgary teams, (TopMade, Yahoo, Guardian) should be there, too, so we should get a pretty good idea of how the Alberta teams stack up against each other. Please note that the festival has yet to post a schedule, so I cannot confirm that all of the teams listed above will be there this year, although they were all there last year.

Thru the Calgary Dragon boat Festival Website:

. Then thru the team support / registration section.

Looks like you're going to get your wish. Looks like Imperial Dragons are coming from Toronto. Is the Montreal DBC a mixed, open or a womens crew?

Piranhas from Toronto are now signed up as well. After the Central race-off next weekend, there could be even more crews that sign up.
This is shaping up to be a pretty competitive festival.

FCRCC is sending a strong B mixed crew to race and women , the A mixed crew & A men will remain in Vancouver to prepare for the World Championships in Australia .
It also looks like the Masters will take a shot in the Premier NCC and opening up the crew and possibly adding youth to the roster to strengthen the team even more ...they should be very strong ...this is the rumor anyway

No ,coach gave me a weekend pass ...lol . I'll be racing w/ the Masters so I can be rostered for Malaysia and may possibly give the B team a hand if needed but that has yet to be determined .
Don't worry ... I'll be there for the bong !!
and then soon after off to Australia ......I so can't wait !!
