well...if you aren't weirded out by the emo kids,
and if you bring your weight in children sure,
I'd recommend you to go to adult flatwater though,

I've been trying flatwater (k1) and it's a gas. No other boat (at least not db or oc) allows you to connect with the water and develop good balance so well, IMNSHO. However, be prepared to get wet. The sessions are also known as "adult capsize lessons". If you're coming from a pure db background, I'd suggest a gentler transition via OC1. If you're an FCRCC member, I highly recommend signing up for OC1 SBC, especially if Jackie comes back to coach in the winter.

i disagree. i think C1 is better for that. and if you do war canoe, you have a chance to get used to the stance in the boat (high kneel), which is a great mid-point to go from DB to C1. we want as many youth out in war canoe and C1 (and k1) as possible so we can steal them when they're super fast when they're older.

Never give a match up halfway through. Never say that you do not feel up to it, that your condition is bad, and throw in the towel. Fight to the very end, always looking for your chance to break through.

By all means kids should try war canoe or c15. It looks like a blast and I'd like to do it myself although I'm not quite in the right age category.
Check out the kids having fun in this picture from

:
My comment about k1 was really with respect to oc and db. Haven't really done any c1 myself.
As for adults learning fast without the ama, sure why not. But only sign up if you're a decent swimmer because you will
fall in the water and might have to swim a fair distance with your boat
. Let's not be too arrogant or elitist about different types of boats please. I find it both hilarious and sad to hear oc paddlers dissing db'ers and flatwater paddlers dissing oc. Can't we all just get along?
