The 2007 registration package is out...been reading through it and here's some things in particular that's interesting:

- an early early bird deadline (Dec. 28)
- a 200m sprint in April
- a Comp D division
- Guts & Glory consists of Comp A/B + 1 random team from each of Comp C/D

Comp D?  Wow, can't wait 'till all rec and consolation divisions to turn into comp E-Zed!

Comp X!  How cool would that sound.

G&G is now 20 boats huh...man why not the top 2 JR. teams, oh yeah...parental consent and safety issue and all that... Mad

Thanks for the info

Me thinks the comp divisions will be ony 8 teams instead of 9 and maybe that is why there will be 2 randomly selected crews from comps C & D to complete the G&G starting grid. But that is just me thinking out loud and if I am wrong then I appologise!

Teamwork is so important that it is virtually impossible for the team to reach the heights of it's capabilities or achieve winning results without becoming very good at it. You must practice TEAMWORK as a team, not as individuals!

Sounds like someone is going to get a lump of coal this holiday season Wink.  Grumpy cause of exams?

From what I have heard

ADBF is looking at:
3 mixed divisions: novice, rec, comp.  Each division guaranteed 4 races
   Women's, guaranteed 4 races.
Men's (same as previous years, one or 2 races depending on how you do).
   Juniors (same as previous years)
   Senior (same as last year)

8 boat heats

BuKs and Geminis

1st race placement may dictate which division you go into.  There may be some opportunity to move up a division (i.e. from Rec to Comp or Comp to Rec) depending on how you race in the 2nd race.

Points earned on the first day may determine whcih semi final you end up in, same as the last few years.

Some of the races may be 200m and maybe not.  I think Saturday should be 2-200m and 1-500m but then we would be racing until 9PM.  So it will probably be 500m only.

anything about location?  cause the way the creek is looking now, there may not be room to run heats where we're used to having them.

same place, only lane 9 is likely gone with the old "Rec A"(though there will still be a rec A)

Lane 9 will probably make a come back along with the debut of Comp X Razz

I heard DZ is getting 2 spanking new(2nd hand?) OC6s!  Anyone seen them yet?

In the reg. package, they stated 2 prices..one for out of town and one for local. Does anyone know what is considered local?? We are from Cultus Lake, so a long enough drive to be considered "out of town", but in the vicinity to where we could be considered "local". Someone thought that if it's long distance to call Vancouver from where you are, you're considered out of town. Can anyone confirm any of this? Thx! Oh, one more question..I have never been to Alcan before, so I was wondering if there was any "qualifiers" or races needed before entering Alcan.

no real qualifiers per-se, however the false creek regatta and [moreso] the Alcan Regatta (which i think is included in the reg price?) are used to help "seed" teams for Alcan itself.

a call or e-mail to the race director should clarify whether your in or out of town
