I'm in search for a nice bag or backpack that I can carry my dragonboat equipment in.  Usually a practice paddle and a carbon for races.  Also pockets for misc. things like keys/wallet/wax/etc. would be nice too.  Any suggestions on brand or specific type?  Links to company websites would be helpful.  Thanks!

Check out www.typhoon8.com.   They have a pretty good bunch of paddle bags.   There is a guy in Calgary that distributes the stuff.  I can give you his contact info if you PM me.   I don't think he wants his cell ph # on the web.

Supposedly a local to southern California is a brand rep for Typhoon 8.  I'm just wondering what other brands are out there or recommended...

I looked over the Typhoon8 stuff and I kind of like the backpack with the paddle bag addon, BUT, I just bought a Northface backpack and I feel like it would just be a waste of money then.  Although I did get the bag for about 75% off....

If you want "local", Western Kayak and Canoe (in Abbotsford) has some, fairly reasonable (under $30, I think). They have the 2 paddle capacity. Just google the name, and you'll find the website no prob.

I'm from California so that isn't really "local" to me.  Also I found their page and the only paddle bag they seem to have is purple.  I don't want purple!  8)

neither is Barney, that's why the boat is white now,

I suggest the typhoon ones, multi or single dragonboat paddle ones, if you try you can shove 2 in the single, multi bag fits OC blades too...I think...

Mike,

Evan, Tony, Peter and a few other have the typhoon 8 bags.  You can also get outrigger bags from brad of paddleme sports.  He'll likely be at the Long Beach races this weekend.  I use a big stohlquist backback or a 2 paddle Paddleme bag.

I still owe you 4 bucks for Jamba Juice!

i own one of these... 25.99 CAD + tax, they're a basic bag, nothing special, but they hold two paddles and they serve their purpose

If you have invested in a Northface pack already I assume it has some exterior strapping for accessories.  Try using ice axe loops.  It doesn't offer the same protection as a full bag but it keeps the blades attached to your pack.

Hi,

i am also a Typhoon8 dealer. i'm located in the san francisco area.  if you need anything let me know and i can either ship it to LA, send it down with jason (who lives 2.5 miles from my place) or have it here waiting for you in september at the treasure island races.

for so cal typhoon8 sources: brad from paddleme, and chris from ocean ohana are the only 2 i know of.
