There are a number of us interested in forming a lesbian team for next year. If you would be interested in being on the team leave me a message and I'll keep you informed. We'll probably have an initial get-together/planning session in August or September. That will give us the chance to spread the word at a few more dragon boat festivals and at Pride  8)

just curious, but are you doing this just to get the word out about pride?   Or are you doing this because you love the sport and would like to set up a team for it.

Hi there
We are all totally into dragon boating... and we happen to be lesbians that would like to paddle with other lesbians. We all paddle on mixed teams at the moment but once a few of us paddled on a women's team we got talking about how much fun it would be to pull together a lesbian team.. so there you have it, the germ of an idea that may grow into a team  Very Happy

Or a Gay and lesbian team...who knows...get the merchants for Davie Village to sponsor...I think that is a wonderful idea...a group of people of common interest with the love of dragon boating, will definately spice things up on the creek.

Sundragon: There was a posting on the Dragonboat forum from Jennifer Eng out of San Francisco. She is coaching Californias first LGBT team hoping to compete in San Fran in September. LGBT is lesbian, gay, bisexual and transexual paddlers. You might want to contact Jennifer at 925-575-0958 for information etc. Good Luck...

Hey whiterabbit
That's great! We've been getting quite a bit of interest in the team. I suspect we'll organise a get together of all interested women sometime in August or September. If you want to private message me here or email me at [email protected] with an email address I will let you know keep you posted on developments. I think it will likely be a rec team, to start, but we have been tossing around the idea of the next Out Games  Very Happy
