I attended the Sproat lake 2005 Regatta on Beautiful Sproat lake. Warm clean water and bakers dozen of teams with great attitudes and happy faces. If Alpha was here they would have spent a chunk of change in protests as the organizersy encouraged paddlers to jump in different boats (even in the finals.....) and also gave out a "paddle sl*t award to the team that sl*tted themselves out the most!
Lotsa fun and a great way to meet other paddlers in a relaxed and fun regatta.
I'm posting up a link to the pictures as there are a few.
Enjoy!

Thanks...

They look as good as they did on the ferry ride home.

Lethal thanks for taking the pics, they are great!

I was hoping to meet you in PA but thought you never arrived...there was a man on the dock running off plenty of film but he turned out to be a tourist from Switzerland.  He was intrigued by all the color and energy.

The Selkirk Serpents took the "friendly paddler" award and boy did they deserve it.  Some of their paddlers did 4,5 and even 6 races ...considering the course was set at well over 600 meters for the first two races of the day that is amazing.

My own ladies joined the Mixed Nuts (a team formed that day on site) for a fourth race so one team wouldn't have to race alone.  New team that day, kind of epitomizes the feeling of the festival.

See no protests, way to go everybody!!!!

Congrats to all and many kudos for a spectacular day in PA.

great idea! Thanks to the Sproat Lake Regatta organizers for encouraging more inter-team relationship building... we need more of that in this sport!

perhaps one of the smaller LML regattas are willing to do the same? Harrison? White Rock? Chilliwack?  Very Happy

My team decided not to attend; therefore, I did not get there.

Looks like a fun time had by all...

Most definately!  I was sad to see your team didn't come...though it meant we had one less team to finish behind.

Thanks for the pics Lethal!  I love the fact that we look as intense in the "just for fun" tug of war with you as we did in the races.  Mind you, we were intent on going down fighting..."just for fun", ha!  no...we're not competative at all....even if it was a lost cause  Wink  Laughing

Hahaha, we took one look at you 4 guys plus the women, and knew we were going down Wink Although I think we took out some last race frustrations on that tug of war... good way to end the day!

Well it's not quite off... but I'm working on it...

I had to go check out the butt sore postings after the tug-of-war... like the fisrt one wasn't hard enough then some fool two more of those silly things Rolling Eyes I'll be into the neosporin and bandaids for a while.

Actually it was all good until the juniors started splashing I guess I should know better than to get into a boat with a bunch of teanagers Confused

Thank goodness it wasn't creek water or I would have been walking back to the ferry with my new leg.  I think I have been less wet after a huli...

It was a fun though somewhat damp finish to a great day.  Very Happy

Thanks and thanks and thanks to the PA crew for putting it all together and thanks to that backwards bunch for bringing Lethal and I along for the ride.   Very Happy

Too funny Lethal and Indigo, I was the one in the Dog Hat!
I talked to you ladies right after the Tug of War on the dock.

Glad everyone had fun...next time we will meet up for sure.

Lethal I didn't see any pics of the Divas in the photo album, do you have any you could send to me email?
