Anyone notice that racing has been a lot more varied, fun and interesting this year? Gotta credit the people involved, talk about awesome.

WE should all take out a squatter boat each and ram each other till one sinks.

Turning LEFT in the 1000m Sea Vancouver Regatta

We have to turn left.
2 boats will leave from the start line first. They should be a high and low seeded team to avoid collisions at the turning buoy - then one minute later, the remaining teams will leave the finish line. Ideally, all teams should be rounding the turning buoy on their own.
I am looking forward to steering for this race. We practiced turning a few times in last night's practice. We used some of the techniques we have developed from the dragon boat barrel races we have done in Seattle and Vancouver Taiwanese races. Certainly not perfect as our crew is mostly novice this year + veterans who haven't done and barrel racing... yet!
