Anyone?

You can find a list of teams here

In no particular order my top ten...

Gorging Dragons (safest bet in all of 2004)
Pacific Reach (safe bet with a 5th place finish in Montreal)
Pacific Reach Echo (safe bet)
Koi Dragonauts (safe bet+home town advantage)
Subaru WRX (Legacy did well in Alcan... but how will they do when they combine with Outback)
Acme (strong team.. had an addition of some Roli Dragon paddlers for this event)
FODB (no longer little kids...)
Alpha Dragons (strong team.. slightly rebuilding from last year)
Capital Iron (did well last year in Victoria...)
Dragon Warriors (thought I'd throw in a dark horse)

Top Ten teams...providing we're not excluding the Americans from this list...Kai Ikaika must be up there somewhere, seeing as they won it last year.  It should be a lot of fun, and some good racing.  See you there.

Oh, and on a completely different topic...there was a team at Alcan selling bumper stickers ("My other car...).  If someone knows who that was and if they're going to be in Victoria, tell them to find me, I want one.

I believe the team selling stickers is called Vancity Thunder but I don't think they are heading to Victoria. I know someone on that team and I can ask if they still have any left.

Should be a good A final.  A strong team should always beat a group of strong individuals, so...

1. Gorging
2. Kai Ikaika
3. Pacific Reach
4. Dragonauts
5. FODB
6. Capital Iron

I've been to both Victoria island races and if you have noticed the results from the Nanaimo & Victoria Island Festivals, Absolut Adrenaline has been 4th in both events with impressive times for a first year team. Might be a dark horse to sneak into the top ten..... young team with heart.
The Navy Anchors and Extreme reach have also both improved in both races.

Oops.. I missed them on that list that Victoria provided.  They should've put the teams in at least alphabetical order...

Sorry Dragon Warriors... I'm bumping you from top 10... Welcome Kai Ikaika... I have a feeling that I should bump some other teams off too.. but I'll stick with what I have and bite the bullet...

Hey Chaos,

No problem with bumping the Dragon Warriors down (though thanks for the thought) as we are sending a rec crew on our first outing to Victoria. Though I know they will paddle hard with a lot o heart, cracking the top 10 is unlikely in the tough field at Victoria.   I'm sure they will have a blast though.  Can anyone give me their thoughts on how a foundation 2000 boat feels as compared to a buk boat ?

Anyway, on a different note, we are in full swing prepping for another  great weekend of fun and racing at the San Francisco race on September 25&26.   This year our Vancouver guests include:

TD Lightning
Van City Thunder
WWW.Roli.com (who along with Acme has been a great supporter of our event for several years now)

Certainly, I'd like to extend a warm invitation for more Vancouver crews to add our 10th anniversary race in 2005 to their race calendars.   The race date will be October 1&2 and promises to be our best event yet.  We are already at work to bring in several international crews to come out and join the fun.

Happy paddling all !

Hans
