Guido.....fact or fiction?

It's so sad to formally announce that Guido is fiction.
I want to thank Ronnie for assisting me in bringing out the truth behind him. If you're old enough to remember Guido Sarducci he was a big hit on SNL. Along with Bill and Sluggo. Butta Guido isa gooda Italiano namea ina Italy in fact I have an uncle with the name.
It was a blast playing the role. I only wanted to trash myself and see how far it would go, but when arrogance revealed its ugly head it turned my bad side on (which as you all may know doesn't come out very often at all). I am not a fan of it as you all have seen. I prefer to be the underdog and show the accomplishments with hardwork.
I don't like to draw attention to myself.
I have coached several wonderful teams to victory no matter what place they finished. In the end I love watching them take the podium for it is they all 24 paddlers, drummer, and steersperson as a team that produced the outcome not I. Hence it is rare for me to take to the podium when my teams have deserved it more.
My greatest joy in this sport thus far has been to watch my real(by real I mean coached from day one) first junior team win their first of three championship in Vancouver in 1995. Some of you may have heard of them Pink Pearl Pirannhas. There was no greater pleasure than watching them standing on the podium still shocked at their feat. All of them now adults have become friends(even though they became friends during their first season). In fact I am honoured to play a role in one of the couples bridal party come their wedding day. They paddled for M-Power last year. If any of you know them it's Albert and Margaret.
So....in closing I would like to extend an apology to any and all of you I may have insulted. I had no intention of harming anyone's feelings or their reputation. I have respected Rob in all my years of paddling and will continue to do so.
Let's go out there and raise the bar a couple of notches. Work hard and don't forget to have fun in the end.
Letting the cat out of the bag. Dario.
The words expressed above are those of Dario. The opinion expressed by him have had no influence by any of the moderators, administrators or directors of this website. Neither arm of his were twisted in the composition of this article. No death threatening weapons were held at his temple during the writing of this forum. And lastly no response to this topic is necessary.

Ummm, you're welcome
I want to put in on record that I am not nearly old enough to remember Father Guido Sarducci. I had to do some fancy investigative work. The SNL seasons that I remember have Mike Myers, Chris Rock, Jon Lovitz, Dana Carvey, etc. (guess I'm dating myself here).

Hi Dario,
I paddled for TCC for the past 5yrs and I wish you the best of luck with them. They are a great bunch people and boy do they like to have fun. Hope you know how to dance, Trinny style! I now paddle for Pacific Reach Echo (I made the switch due to a handsome fellow on the Comp A team) and I look forward to racing TCC. Please keep my friend (guy) Sean in line, feel free to call him Dumbass, trust me he likes it. Also tell Kei to keep his pants on! Say hi to the whole team and a big hug for Winston. I look forward to seeing the team at the Nearly Neil fundraiser.
Ciao

if memory serves me correctly, the team had a different name each year.
After PPP, I believe they were called Power Surgers, then Tsunami, and finally Mahi-Mahi.

Wow....I'm impressed....have you been following my career??? One correction though, they were the Kamakaze not the Tsunami...close though.
Or were you one of them and not telling me?

sorry to disappoint you, but i don't think you have a fan club
i never paddled with/for you before, and i don't think we've met either, unless it was after obscene amounts of alcohol at a paddler's party.
i know about joe and maggie, but i didn't hear about albert and margaret on the wire.

Rumour has it that with Dario's (hmmm Guido's) coaching, TCC Carib Dragoneers is the team to watch this year.
3 years ago they won gold for Rec D. 2 years ago, Silver in Rec C and last year, Rec A Gold!!!!
Dario does have some big boots to fill as Wayner (DWW & Strath) coached TCC to their Rec A gold victory!!!
But can Dario dance? That is the question. It's all in the hips Baby!!!! Alcohol helps too!!!!
Keep your eye on TCC!!!!!!!
