looking for paddlers - Victoria

We're just doing head counts on our mixed team Paddlers of the Fifth Moon and our women's team Snappin' Dragons but it looks like we may have a few seats on either boat for the 2018 season starting April 3. The season will run until the Victoria Festival in August.
Both teams are competitively minded rec crews and typically place around the top of the recreational crews at most races. Snappin' Dragons typically places in the top womens division at each festival.
We're looking for fit, strong, committed, reliable, driven people that are pleasant to be around. These are drama-free teams! General vibe would be show up, work hard and don't be a jerk! You will train both sides with a strong focus on technique and injury prevention with a very experienced coach. You will also have access to other cross-training options if desired such as running (free) and outrigger canoe (not free!).
At this time we're looking mainly to fill male seats on the mixed boat although if you come as a couple we can likely squeeze in your other half. As expected we're looking for women for the women's team! Ideally we're looking for the 20-49 age range to avoid roster competition with some of the 50+ local teams but obviously the right fit will not be turned away due to age. No experience is necessary just a willingness to learn and push yourself. We'll teach you everything you need to know.
Snappin' Dragons (women) trains Tues and Thurs 530-7pm, meeting at 515pm for warm up at Fairway Gorge Paddling Centre. They will participate in 4 festivals:
Sprints (Victoria) May 27
X2 womens (Victoria) June 18
Nanaimo Jul 7-8
Victoria Aug 11-12
There will also likely be the option for additional festivals as add-ons. Cost will likely be around $250 for the season and all the races with addtional fee for team shirt.
Paddlers of the Fifth Moon (mixed) trains 7-830pm at FGPC with warm up at 645pm.
We will participate in all festivals above with the exception of the X2 womens festival. Team fees should be around $215 for the season (shirt included).
If you're interested or would like more information, please contact me. Of course you're more than welcome to come try a couple practices before having to fork over the registration fee.
