My first thought when I first looked at the race grid was... "We're racing Blind Fury??" Having enjoyed paddling with them in the Taiwanese festival, I had hoped that I wouldn't race them or Eye of the Dragon this weekend.  Whelp, sorry VeronicaC, but on the water there's no such things as friends.  Twisted Evil
I guess I should grab my Bronze medal before the races eh? Laughing

Hmm.. Looks like Foundation 2000plus finally realized that Fresh Off the Dragonboat is the Steamrollers team from Alcan.  I know of a couple teams gunning to beat them.  Should be interesting to see since even if those teams do beat FODB, it'll be a hollow victory since FODB is missing a large chunk of their core paddlers.... of course you can never write off any team... especially these kids..

It's remarkable to see all three of the Nokia teams participating for this event since historically they've only fielded one team.  I wonder which ones are 1.0, 2.0 and 5.0...

Also, this should be Adrenaline's first out of town trip so it should be interesting to see how they handle having to travel and then paddle the next day.  It's definately a different experience than in Alcan where you get out of your own comfortable bed, go race and then go home.

MPower should be out for blood at this event since they missed out on Victoria this year.  Paddled with them for awhile this year and I can say they got a pretty strong boat. They definately have the intensity down pat.

Definately gonna be an interesting weekend.. Good Luck to everyone!  Very Happy

I think it's fun to race against "friends". Wink

I am going to be drumming for Blind Fury this weekend cause they don't have enough people.  Unfortunately, Eye of the Dragon is racing right before you guys, so I can't do double duty for the first heat.  Would have been fun.
