Hi all,

We're in the process right now of counting heads and seeing where numbers are for Paddlers of the Fifth Moon (mixed) and Snappin' Dragons (womens) for 2016.

Both crews paddle out of FGPC in Victoria on Tues and Thurs nights starting in April and running to the Victoria Dragon boat festival in Aug.

We do 4 festivals.  Fees are yet to be set but are typically some of the lowest in Victoria.

SD is on the water 5:30-7pm and FM is on the water 7-830pm.

Both teams are competitively minded rec crews.  Paddlers are expected to show up, work hard, and leave baggage/drama at home.  We're looking for fit, reliable, committed, motivated people to complement our crew.  You will train both sides with a strong focus on technique and injury prevention with a coach with 15 years experience and numerous training courses over the years.  We also have an outrigger group and a free run group you can access.

If you're interested or would like more info, please contact me at [email protected].

Looks like we will have a few seats for both boats available.  Focus will likely be women for the Snappin' Dragons women's boat (obviously!) and men or couples for the Fifth Moon mixed boat as we have a couple guys to replace.

For more info just let me know at [email protected].  If you want to meet people from the team before the season starts, we're in the outrigger right now.

Again, fees yet to be fully set but you can assume $250 or less will get you practice time from start of April to August (boat rental and coach with 15yrs of experience/education), shirt, and entry to Sprints, Nanaimo, Gorgefest and Victoria.

Just an update on fees, both teams have been set at $200 for the year although for Snappin' Dragons the team shirt will also need to be purchased (typically less than $50).

This covers boat rental, coaching and entry to 4 festivals.  Fifth Moon's shirt is also included in the $200 fee.

That's probably the best deal for fees in Victoria.  We have a few seats on both crews for the right people.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Doing pretty well for Fifth Moon (not cutting off potential new folk until everyone has had a chance to try it out though!).

Could still use some strong women to help fill the last bit of Snappin' Dragon's roster.  Aiming for 20-49 to avoid competing with the 50+ teams for bodies but the right person will not be turned away!  Smile
