Just a $100 discount for out of town teams more than 100 miles away? Being a Canadian with the current exchange rate I would think more of a discount would have to apply. You would have to consider being so late in the summer most teams will have exhausted 2015's travel budgets.  I wonder how much it is this year for San Fran's festival which is just the weekend after yours...? If we're 6 hours drive then there are other things to consider like accommodation and meals etc. Food for thought for you guys...

Teamwork is so important that it is virtually impossible for the team to reach the heights of it's capabilities or achieve winning results without becoming very good at it. You must practice TEAMWORK as a team, not as individuals!

Thanks for the feedback. This is actually a concern of ours and we have reached out to teams that have attended in the past to try and gauge whether the exchange rate will be a factor and we have been discussing if there is anything we can do about it. Based on preliminary responses it seems that yes, it could be, but the bigger problem is not so much the race entry fee, but all of the related expenses, especially hotel lodging. People like to come to Portland for tax-free shopping too, but again, that's not as attractive this year. I'd welcome any other feedback on this.
