Hi!
I hope you are female because if you are, please read on. If you aren't, I apologize, we're a women's team.
So here are our details: we are Snapdragons, and we are recreational but we are becoming more competitive. Before you hang up on me, let me tell you we have won medals:
Rio Tinto Women's B: gold, bronze.
Pentiction Diamond division (second highest division): two golds and a silver, and we raced in the highest division one year but didn't get a medal.
Harrison: gold
Seattle: bronze
Women's Regatta: lots of first places.
Our best time ever: 2:10:55.
These medals and time were with a boat of 50% new paddlers every year. THIS year we aren't taking anyone who hasn't paddled for at least one season.
More details: Tuesday practice at 6 pm at Dragonzone, off the water at 7:20 pm. We are required to be on the water one other day per week (no problem for you, you have an OC1).
Our coach is VERY experienced (more than 20 years) and races competitively himself (going to the World's in Italy this year).
Fees: $350.
We are women of all ages (early 20s to 50s) and we are serious when we race. BUT we like and support each other, like to have fun, we have BBQs and potlucks, pub nights, and go snowshoeing. We are welcoming to new members.
Would you like to come to our team meeting on March 4th at 5:30 pm at the Sin Bin, in the "VIP room"? Also, I invite you to our first practice (free) on March 11th at Dragonzone, meet at 5:15 pm.
Either way, will you please give me a quick reply as in "maybe" or "absolutely not",
Kathleen
[email protected] (I'm finance and "den mother" for the team).
Hope to meet you (if you are female). And if you are male, I'm sure you are a very nice person.
