Are you interested in joining a fun and determined group of paddlers?

We are a very social team but work hard to compete at the semi-competitive level.

We are looking for committed paddlers and steers, young adults, 20-35 years old.

Come to our open house and check us out!

February 23rd and March 2nd • 9-11AM
Creekside Community Centre

RSVP: email [email protected] or call/text 604-644-5415

Unfortunately, due to the weather, we are forced to cancel our first open house/practice on February 23rd.  Hope to see you on March 2nd!

No way, it would be nice to be paddling while the snow falls...

I remember those days.  As far as I know, DZ don't let teams out when it's snowing anymore  Sad

You're not allowed to go out if air temp is 0 and below. Regardless of snowing or raining i think.
Unless there's crazy wind warning.

When not to go paddling?

Environment Canada issues alerts for the weather hazards:
•Blizzard
•Blowing Snow
•Dust Storm
•Flash Freeze
•Freezing Drizzle
•Freezing Rain
•Frost
•High Heat and Humidity
•Humidex
•Hurricane
•Rainfall
•Severe Thunderstorm
•Snowfall
•Snow Squall
•Storm Surge
•Tornado
•Tropical Storm
•Tsunami
•Weather
•Wind
•Wind Chill
•Winter Storm

When docks become dangerous to load and unload due to ice on dock (temperature below 0 C).

Otherwise fog and regular precipitation is not going to stop us! Just remember to bring lights.

Also when Vancouver Coastal Health Authority issues a Beach Water Quality Report where False Creek East is ridiculously high in coliform (over 500/100 mL). 200/100mL is when you should not swim in the water.
