Swordfish is looking for a dedicated coach for the 2014 season.
Swordfish is an adult mixed recreational team with a competitive streak. We are a long established team with a core of 12-14 paddlers and we recruit new members from the community each year. Our paddlers range in experience from 12 years to brand new paddlers who are dedicated to learning and improving. We currently have about 18 paddlers signed on for the 2014 season and we are still recruiting.
The team practices Wednesdays at 7 pm and Saturdays at 9 am out of the Dragon Zone at False Creek. Our season starts with dry land workouts in January, and on-water practices beginning in February. The season usually ends mid-September, depending on the festivals the team decides to enter each year.
We are a positive team that believes in working hard, racing our race and doing our best on the water, but we also make sure we have fun as a team. Our efforts have resulted in gold medals in the Rec A division during the 2013 season. We aim to maintain our standing or do even better in the 2014 season.
