False Creek Time Trial and Used Gear Sale for Filipino Relief

We are blessed in the FCRCC Premier DB Program with having many teammates from the Philippines. They not only work hard in the canoe but have promoted our social interactions through feasts and karaoke. We liked to say last season that the "P" in our name was for "Philippines". As you will all know as paddlers, our team is our family. We would appreciate your support in our effort to raise funds for this worthy cause.

Time Trial

Where
FCRCC Alder Bay Dock (Granville Island)
Registration at the Granville Island Hotel, Alder Bay Room.
Course
OC-6's and dragon boats: course is about 4 km: Alder Bay to Science World and back.
Small boats: course is FCRCC's typical 5 km time trial route.
Registration
Payment will be collected on race day. However, pre-registration will be helpful for us. IF you have a private boat and find you can come but haven't registered, no problem, please come anyway. Club boats may be available for race-day registration too. To register, please go to the following link and register in the appropriate category:

Race day payment
Payment will be collected on the dock from people coming via the water. For those coming by land, registration will be at the Granville Island Hotel (Alder Bay room).
Cost:
$30 per OC-6 crew
$100 per DB crew
$10 per person for small boats
Donations of draw prizes would be gratefully accepted. Please bring your item to the event or email Andrea at

We will also hold a used paddle and gear sale. Anything paddling-related that you think could be used by someone else, please bring it. We will sell higher valued items by consignment. We may have some new gear for sale there too. To donate, please bring your items to the hotel in the morning between 8:00 and 9:00 or email Kamini at
[email protected] to set up a good time to drop them off during the week.
Vendor tables for new gear are available. Please email Kamini to participate.
100% of proceeds will go to the Red Cross. If you are unable to attend our event but you would like to donate to the cause, Red Cross donations are being accepted at Vancouver Community Centers and Safeway locations.
As this is a last-minute effort, please help us make a successful event by spreading the word.
