Dragon Hearts Beat is recruiting for the 2012 season!
We are a group of university students, graduate students, and full-time workers from Vancouver. Outside of training, we enjoy dining out, watching the Canucks, playing games like Cranium and Mafia, and spending time at the beach.
We find fun in challenges, competition, and new experiences. We sought festivals that were new to Dragon Hearts Beat such as Steveston, Victoria, and San Francisco. Some of us also participate in UBC Day of the Longboat, Tough Mudder, and the Lotus Ice Breaker V12 Race.
In 2011’s Alcan festival we finished 2nd in Recreational B (34th out of 100 teams), and we look forward to achieving similar success in 2012.
Unfortunately our Alcan team has filled up (for the moment). But please do contact us if you are interested in our other races. Here is what we are considering:

PracticesVenue: Creekside Community Centre in Vancouver
2 required dragon boat practices each week starting on Saturday February 4th:
- Saturday - warm up at 9:00AM, load the boat at 9:30AM *
- Tuesday - warm up at 7:00PM, load at 7:30PM
* Occasional Thursday night practices (load at 7:30PM) before major paddling events to make up for the canceled Saturday practices.
Small boat practices are optional but
highly encouraged: OC1 (one-seated outrigger canoe), OC6, marathon canoe, war canoe, etc.
