From Sunday's update on www.2011wpfg.org, looks like dragon boating was cancelled - sounds like permanently - due to Hurricane Irene.

Any word from participants if it will get added back on to the schedule later in the week? If not, good luck athletes, and enjoy your time in the city as we approach a milestone.

It was cancelled completely.  Allot of disappointed people.

Doesn't surprise me that DB was cancelled. Two weeks ago New York had a severe weather situation as well, which flooded the Flushing Meadows race site. I was there racing with Eye of the Dragon, and we were only able to race one of our two Sunday races due to cancellations. If 24 hours of "normal" rain would flood that area with a foot of water then, I would think that hurricane Irene would have obliterated it. Sad.
