What a wonderful day of paddling today. With great friends and some great racing, we've ended 2011 Lower Mainland Dragon Boatting Season.

To Lifescan-congratulations on a hard earned a final championship. To the Grand Dragons, you guys did awesome coming in second overall

To all the teams who raced in steveston, you all ROCK.

Ann, Alexis, Leah Nagano and Wendy THANK YOU for your continued support for the dragon boat community.  (i may have missed some names because my brain is fried - sorry)

G2G Race Management. - Greg Lamb, Louise Lamb, Brad Howie, Lauren Marchak, Ben Lee, and Lawrence from dragon zone - thank you for your professionalism and given all the racers great/impartial racing.

THANK YOU TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS - without your support, this festival would not have happened.

We hope to see you all soon. Keep up the training and we will see you all in 2012

Thanks Puppy for ditching your team to steer us to victory today. Couldn't have done it without you and your much-needed call for 'patience' in the middle of the last race. The patience paid off!

I second your thoughts on the Granddragons. What an inspiration and honour to race against them in the final.  I am awestruck by the spirit of determination and competitive drive that they embody. They were my heroes of the day, truly GRAND in the most incredible way.

Thanks Spark10. It was my pleasure helping you or any teams out. However, just to clarify, I will never ditch the team I coach. They knew I was steering in the same race and I gave them the encourgement and support they need and deserve. They are a good group of begginers who have been lead by a great group of veteran paddlers.  Even through adversity of being knocked out of the championship round by fractions of second, they rallied back in the consolation round and raced an awesome race.

So for all teams - at then end of the day, a coach can only coach up to a point. The rest is up to the team to execute. The team who best executes their plan - will win.

Congratulations to everyone   Smile.

True dat. And don't worry, the ditching part was just a joke. Nobody out there would question your commitment to your team(s).
