Hello Everyone,

Sorry!  I couldn't find the original thread on this discussion so I started this one. Does anyone know what is happening with this movie?  With everyone entering into off season and many teams now looking to recruitment, I don't think there would be any better aid than this movie in DVD playing in the back ground.  As I've lost track on the progression of this movie I don't even know if it was released out to theaters or anywhere near to be being available for purchase on DVD?

Anyone know where this project sits?

I for one was overly excited and eager to await for the movie, but that was then.
Now its just another movie thats releases many trailers to give you a taste (and generate interest/hype) over the span of months at a regular-ish interval, with no attempts to satisfy the cravings that it has created.

There was an early screening to select key ppl in the db community a few months back, for which no one in their production team advertised/marketed...I mean we might not have had an invitation but at least that would have been news, any news is good, but nada..I only found out through pics. disappointing. bleh.

I agree that they could use some practice marketing. I know that the bulk of the db community was unaware that this movie was premiering (or if it even existed) but those who did know about it filed into the movie theatre (near full-house) and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Having been fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to go see this movie, I must say it is worth waiting for. I know we're used to the big movies coming out on time, but that is because they already premiered it before they even started advertising it in the first place. By the first trailer, it's already working on getting into cinemas, and by the first showing to the public, it is making its way to DVD.

I think ITSB movie started out as a small project of personal interest by Alfonso and Jacqueline, and slowly it turned into something bigger and bigger because the db community became intrigued by its intimate nature. I mean, most of us will know at least 1-2 faces, at the very least! I'm not sure if they meant for it to come out on DVD but because of its demand, they will work on it. When asked after the showing, they seemed keen to do it, but likely weren't expecting to. It's like researching for your thesis and all of the sudden a hoarde of people want to make it into a book. Maybe the logistics of it just aren't there for them yet.

Maybe I am entirely wrong about the last 5 minutes of reading. But anyway. I tell myself that to justify my waiting!

It is documentary-style with a few big names in Vancouver DB and had crazy footage that you wouldn't see elsewhere. Not your average shaky digital camera clips surrounded by screaming, that's for sure.

Now that you reminded me about this movie, I'm all excited again. I hope for an answer too. Wait long enough young cricket, it will come  Razz

Apparently they'll be playing this documentary at the festival this weekend.

They're going to play documentaries in the community centre every hour, alternating between "In The Same Boat" and "We Can't See You Beating Us". Could be a good way to kill some time between races instead of lining up for free aluminum foil.
