First time poster here. My name is Henry Kim and I recently took on responsibility for Apex Composites's paddle sales, marketing and distribution.  We are based in Burlington, Ontario and sometimes I think we are not paying enough attention to the BC market.  I wonder what we can do to make our paddles more available on the West Coast.  Is a web presence enough?  Do we need to be in retail stores?

We just launched our new site http://www.apexpaddles.com with secure online ordering.  Tell me what you think.  Is there enough information on the paddles?  Is it easy to navigate?  We're trying to keep it simple and focused.

Is the Ultimate no longer being manufactured?

Website looks good, I was glad to see lots of information about Returns/refunds and shipping, which is important if I'm going to order off the site.

We decided to discontinue the Ultimate this season.  It was a difficult decision.  We knew it was a unique product but we simply weren't selling enough of them to cover costs.

Thanks for the kind words about the site.

Too bad....it was the paddle of choice for FCRCC paddlers..... I guess that now makes it a collectors item .  I luv my adj. Ultimate and has been very useful adding and taking out pieces when switching boats or doing time trials !! I wouldn't use anything else ....

Maybe we should have built some sort of expiry date into the paddles so you would eventually need replacements.  I'm glad you liked the Ultimates.  We would consider doing a special run for large team order.  The problem lies in switching production from Durablade and Accelerator to Ultimate for the occasional sale of one or two paddles.
