Does anyone have video of the Men's & Women's Final races?

Great Warm weekend of racing!
Lots of close races and once again the Canadian curse rears it's delicate head... Laughing
I didn't hear O'Canada as many times as I would like but the only one was touching and brought a tear to my eye.....sniff
Managed a few shots but didn't bring any heavy weapons so enjoy!

Game face for the ladies before the big race

Women's final Margion of Victory...Sweet!

Grand dads and Kids getting ready to rumble

with 50 meters to go, DW looked like the winners.....

but 50 meters is a long way to go....

The Kids celebrate

woohoo, My fans (and Elias's elbow... Confused)

Great photos skygal, superduper, mike and lethal weapon. Do you folks mind sharing them on the SFDragonboat photo gallery for our visitors to see? If so, below are the instructions to upload your photos to our server.

Once you've uploaded your photos please notify me at [email protected] so I may upload them to the Gallery. Once photos are uploaded I will create an album giving credit to you. This invitation goes out to anyone else who would like to share their festival photos as well.

Thanks in advance,
Henry

Sorry about the funky experience. The site plan and tents are finalized weeks in advance and the extremely warm weather we had this past weekend was very rare for TI and because we operate on a shoestring budget we only order what we feel is needed.

However standing next to a dumpster is horrible so I'll definitely forward your comments along to the festival director about having a marshalling area tent.

The other two questions are race related so drop our race director, Hans Wu, a note.

Thank you,
Henry

We're striving in becoming one of the top festivals in Northern Cal. Help us get the positive word out about the festival, dragon boating and the CDBA by voicing your experience on Yelp.

Again thank you the festival wouldn't be the same without your support.

If you paddle in False Creek, standing next to a dumpster is an improvement.... Laughing

I found it interesting that they had tents for the people lining for the freebies at the Hong Trade tent, but the marshalling paddlers were left to cook in the sun or ferment by the dumpster  Smile Nonetheless, it was a great festival and at least the races were on time or early so we didn't have to wait that long.

On another note, I read that this would be the last year at TI, is this true? Where is the new location?

BTW...I know my last statement (speculative I hope) about this year being the last year at TI may cause some consternation since everyone (including me) seems to love the TI site. This information was gleened from a couple of the reviews from the Yelp site below.

^ lol mike, you'll have to forgive him, he's getting older haha

Congrats to all teams that came out!
Thanks to Hans, DW, CDBA organizers, and volunteers who made this event happen go so smoothly!
Special thanks to LARD for giving us the motivation to be better!

Dragon Warriors did a great job hosting out of town teams as always. Congrats on getting bronze bling in the Comp A final! You guys surprised me and stepped it up big time!  Very Happy

speaking about dumpsters, I remember last year for the men's race, we hid behind the same exact dumpster, the diff being that it was smellier lol

All in all, this year's festival is one of the most memorable festival I've ever attended so far, here's to hoping it stays in TI! (imho, TI plays an important factor in the success of the festival due to its unique location/ambiance)

I too would like to thank our host team and sponsor of the festival, Kaiser Permanente. Roast frickin' pig for lunch. Need I say more? Amazing food, touching welcome signage, comforting big hugs from familiar faces seen but twice a year, fully loaded tent set up with cubbie holes for our storing pleasure. They think of everything to make us feel welcome. If you're reading this Kaiser, THANK YOU from Team LifeScan. It is because of your hospitality that we have enjoyed this festival so much for the past 3 years. We know it's not easy feeding the gluttons on our team. Great job! Hope to see you at the 2011 Rio Tinto Festival so we can repay the favor:)

Looks like everyone had a great time again. My team and I went in 2008 and enjoyed every minute of it. The team had scheduled to go down this year as our last festival of the year. Unfortunately, we could only get the minimum amount of paddlers to commit, then as the deadline approached a few who had to back out because of health issues. Of course, one teammate and I had already bought our airline tickets. Our back-up plan was to paddle with a local team as our coach had a few connections, BAD was gracious enough to welcome us to paddle with them. Thank you to Alvin Wang.

One month before the festival, I received my kidney transplant. Unfortunately, my only disappointment was I couldn't travel for 6 months and couldn't go to SF to attend the festival and see that beautiful city again. Well at least next time I don't have to worry about finding a place to dialyse for 4 hours, worry about what foods I can and cannot eat and how much fluid I should drink. These are just some of the difficulties living with kidney disease. I wouldn't want this on anyone. Luckily, I didn't have to wait the 8-10 or more for a kidney donor. Thanks for sharing your story, sucks that you missed SF but on the super upside, you got the much needed kidney!

Hope your recovery is speedy!

It's all speculation. There's a ton of environmental red tape to go through not to mention the slow economy. We haven't heard anything as of yet but will keep teams posted.
