Pacific Reach?

Now that's a name I've not heard in a long time. A long time...

I know Paddleboy has said it before, but looking at those times just reinforces just how great the FCRCC Women are:

Premier Open - FCRCC High Performance           1:58.120
Premier Mixed - FCRCC High Performance           1:58.120
Premier Women - FCRCC High Performance         2:03.120

It's just amazing to see the the Mixed team post the same time as the Open team.

And I know the conditions changed with the wind etc.. but based on times the FCRCC Women's time would have been 3rd in the Mixed Final.

Thanks to Waters Edge and all your crew for putting on such a great weekend of racing.

Finally, an extra big thanks for all the awesome volunteers for braving the water and the cold so we could all paddle and have a great time.

Hi,

BIG thanks to all the teams from Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton and Portland who made the trip to race.  It was great having you! Sorry about the weather.

I big shout out to Chloe, Matt and the rest of the DBC team.  Excellent Job! A special thanks to the boat holders. Brrr, what a cold job.

I another thanks to Water's Edge, great event.

And finally thank you to all the FCRCC teams who participated in Nationals.  Your support is the only reason there were Nationals this year.

Now to comment on the teams I raced with FCRCC High performance mixed and open:
The women have been great all year! They really make the difference.  We have had lots of new men this year, and they have been getting better all year.  I was proud of our open team considering we haven't had full team practices. Great Job!

Glad all you Hamberger kids got home safely!

And I know the conditions changed with the wind etc.. but based on times the FCRCC Women's time would have been 3rd in the Mixed Final.

Please dont demean the hard work and effort put in by the teams in the mixed final by comparing times when we all know wind conditions, tides, etc varies in different heats.

With that said, It's pretty much common knowledge (or should be) in competitive dragon boating, that it is the women that makes or breaks the teams, and I think the FCRCC Women is an awesome bunch!

Great Racing this weekend by all the National Paddling Teams - PERIOD

Congrats to FCRCC!

Great paddling by Magnum - that was a ton of racing your team did.  Very Impressive

Thanks to Verdun Express, CSDC, and Oil City Crew for travelling out here and joining us.

Great race against Pac Reach in our finals

Looking forward to Wellend 2011.

Not just that they also spelled the names of some of the people who worked the event wrong. How can that be?

Teamwork is so important that it is virtually impossible for the team to reach the heights of it's capabilities or achieve winning results without becoming very good at it. You must practice TEAMWORK as a team, not as individuals!

Not only that... but they got the wrong starter altogether. And, they spelled the said starter's name wrong anyway.

aaaah
2 days off with no paddling and my elbow almost feels normal!
Congrats to FCRCC for taking home the gold(s) and to the Magnum (damn kids) for taking us old farts on a few nice rides in the buks... Laughing
Despite the retarded amount of races I did (16...) I managed to get off a few shots (with a little help from John (my "assistant") of the racing

More photos of the Festival side of racing to follow as these are all NTT pics

See some of u at Nanaimo (for only 4 races......aaaaah)

It's a shame that Waters Edge has failed to acknowledge the volunteers at the NTT. It was the Senior C teams supporters and members that supplied most of the volunteers through Dragon Boat Canada. Out on the starting air mattresses, in the water at the staging area, at the admin tent, and all over the whole area. They worked both days and Friday as well. Kudos to the Volunteers. Without them we would not have had a festival..
