Does anyone have a link to this Saturday's Deep Cove 200m Dash race grid? Please post if you know where it can be found.

Thanks!

The grid is available, but check with your team manager for final version as it may change in the next few days.

For those that have downloaded the previous copy of the race grid, we've now obtained a more recent one that was sent out to team managers this afternoon. I've updated PaddleBOT's link to the new file.

Results out yet?

CRAPPY weather aside (at one point, i could barely feel my fingers haha), it was an awesome event to start the season! Thanks to all the volunteers for braving the cold and making it all run smooth. Great competition all around, thanks to all the teams for coming out and racing hard!
Congrats to FCRCC for taking it all, that was an intense final race I have to say lol.

DASSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

were there shirts?

Yeah it was a great final race, 45 seconds for FCRCC, 46 for Magnum.  Look back at previous years results and there hasn't been faster times than this years or a closer final.

One thing though.  I'm a bit ticked off by the change in lanes for the A consolation.  We had all manner of people coming out in the pouring rain etc. to cheer us on and they ended up cheering for the wrong team!  No wonder we lost.  rofl

I timed it:

shortest marshalling time = 32min
longest marshalling time = 1h35min
In weather like that, that is just overdoing it.

Although they probably had good reason for it, (I doubt I'm qualified to say this... but politely speaking...) the dockmasters wanted boats to dock a certain way, and required boats to come in in order rather than first come first go. It was frustrating to watch our boat right there waiting, and have the dockmasters wait for the little boat in the distance because the boat number was before ours (eg. #2 MUST come in before #3) I'm sure that applied to any team out there, we all needed to warm up! Eventually, when the boat numbers were mixed up due to a steering arm mishap, it slowed things down further to have to bring the boats in in order.

Also, Puppy's beautiful voice was often scuffed out by feedback from the speakers.
 (thank goodness...ahem) Laughing

Other than that, it was well done as always. Great job, WE! It was fun!

Could I suggest that the basic problem is trying to run 5 lane heats with less than 10 boats. Fewer boat means that you will always be waiting for some to come in before you load.
The same problem happened last year in the afternoon, when they tried to run 5 lane heats. Fortunately, this year, we waited on the water where we could paddle, as opposed to the dock where we just got wetter.

Did anyone notice that the FC Grandragons, won the B Championship (9th out of 26). You should note that seat 10 was filled with Peggy and George with a combined age of 164. Go figure...
