Hi Allan, (I'm responding from my home address, you can continue to e-mail the [email protected] address)

Thanks for your enquiry about the carbon fibre paddles. We've been talking alot about them lately for our Victoria, Nanaimo and Kelowna festivals.

We've decided to continue with our present rules and allow only wooden paddles. It's our feeling that we'd like to provide all paddlers with a level playing field, and that the use of carbon fibre paddles might be seen as an unfair advantage.

Use of carbon fibre paddles, for this year at least, could be protested by another team, and it would see your team penalized.

We're always looking at providing the best experience for all our participants, and we'll continue to discuss equipment rules, etc. in the future.  Thanks for checking in with us, and letting us know your concern.
