I'll see if I can wake up early enough to watch the last couple of races.   Laughing

Now that the regatta's over with some additional sunburn, I'd like to say congratulation to all the winning teams and thanks to FCRCC for organizing the event!

rb, you were pretty accurate with your predictions.

Top 6 were:

2.01.280 FCRCC
2.06.330 Magnum
2.08.770 Sudden Impact
2.09.200 Masters of D'Zone
2.10.430 WPFG Burnaby Fire Breathing Dragons
2.10.940 RGL United

My predictions

1.  FCRCC
2.  Dragon Hearts Magnum
3.  Sudden Impact Black
4.  Masters of D'Zone
5.  RGL United
6.  Riptide

That last spot could be Eye or Phat Phish as well but Riptide is looking good.

That was a blast. Great racing all day and great sportsmanship on and off the water.

Congrats and thanks to FCRCC for a great regatta.

Only small complaint was the long delays in the afternoon.... I liked the use of times for team seedings, and alternating the Juniors in the Gemini's with the Mixed Adult teams in the BuK's worked well... however, I would have preferred the finals to utilize both sets of boats rather that wait so long between races for the boats to race and unload.  Once it is down to placement in a race to determine advancement etc.. it doesn't matter if some Semi's and/or Finals are in Gemini's and others in BuK's.

It was a great sunny day and the Dragon Boat West film crew was out in full to capture the FCRCC regatta on video... Ok, it was really just one guy with a camcorder but we still got some great video of the finals. Enjoy!

The Burnaby Fire Department wanted to say THANK YOU to all participants. I was asked to let you all know that every one of them have been converted and now totally enjoy this sport of ours. Some even thought prior to doing it, that it was too much of a wussy sport but now they know better. They advised they will be coming by either FCRCC or other clubs out there to inquire about joining a team of their own after the WPFG 2009 is over.

Bernman

PS You are all welcome to come cheer the Burnaby Fire Breathing Dragons on August 8th, 2009. I beleive the venue is at Coal Harbour. That should make for a nice change of venue. Come one come ALL! Cheers!

Teamwork is so important that it is virtually impossible for the team to reach the heights of it's capabilities or achieve winning results without becoming very good at it. You must practice TEAMWORK as a team, not as individuals!
