I figured I might as well start the thread for a change.  Kudos once again to Jackie, Kat, Kerry and the rest of the Dragon Boat Crew.  Harrison is BACK!!!  Clapping

The venue will always remain awesome.  Great beach, nice area to jump in the water (or throw Kerry into the water), and great turn out by the local community.

Kudos should also go out to Scott and the rest of the Fraser Valley Dragon Boat Club. Not only was the event ahead of schedule ... at one point over hour and a half (they actually had to slow it down) but they managed to get the final race completed before the scheduled time - not bad with a boat flip.

The race as usual when run by Water's Edge went flawless, the unfortunate flip was caused by boat #2 (BMO something) celebrating a win only to try a turn when everyone is shifting in the boat.  Not a good idea in a BUK.

Search and Rescue went the wrong way but eventually everything worked out and they got to take home bling for their wet dip.

Overall a combination of Water's Edge and Fraser Valley Dragon Boat Club should continue to make this a must go event.

You'll always have stiff competition as Sudden Impact will show up to defend paddling in the Valley.

I have to agree this had been quite an awesome festival. Plenty of room at the racer's village, great management, intense racing, and plenty of dunking (My team alone has like six dunks).

I'd like to offer my congratulation to SI Black for taking the championship home, and all the other teams! Very Happy It was awesome racing against you guys.

Riptide dunked every single member of their team, and some from other teams.

Thank goodness for the weather eh! And props to BMO Smile that side of the water was chilly.

Yep, awesome job by Water's Edge and all its volunteers!
The venue was beautiful (cept for the occasional sand kicked up by the wind)

And yeah, congratulations to SI Black for winning gold and all the other teams for the intense close races!
Next year, us Magnum will try and give SI Black a run for its money again (in this case gold haha)

Speaking of dunkings, I participated in 5 of those 6 dunkings...so FYI Kerry, since you wanted Brad dunked, consider it a done deal Thumbs up
In fact, I have a video of it that i might post up here later lol

Anyone know if they will provide a link for a PDF of the entire race results?

WOW

This regatta, with the expertise of Waters Edge, has so much potential to become
one of the biggest and best of the Year. I could envision this regatta with 80 teams
if you cut one race, and made it 3 races, or turn it into a full festival ( 2 days).
Great job by all, water was clean, location was great, views of mountains was
incredible. Fun day for sure.

Water's Edge defintely saved the Harrison Regatta.  It was nice to see the teams out and also some of the junior teams as well.  Great potential for our future paddler's.  Jackie, Kat, Kerry and all of your staff and volunteers,  great job!!  See you in Vernon.

Just one request for Water's Edge:  Please stock up on Air Horns for the Starter.  Thanks..   Cool

Thank you to all the Teams that came out to our renamed Harrison Dragonfest. The Fraser Valley Club and Waters Edge partnered up to make this one of the top regattas for the year. The 200 mtre first heats were a great way to start the day, setting the pace for what turned out to be a super day of great racing. follwed by consistently close races.
On the day before, we struggled to get the course set up in very windy conditions, The portaloo truck sank in the sand up to its axles, OMG ! was the curse still with us? So both Waters Edge and FVDBC reminded each other of our motto for the weekend " let`s get `er done!" we did and i think one and all enjoyed the fruits of our labours.
As DiggerPig stated, "Harrison is back" and we intend to keep it back!
Thanks again to all the teams that supported us, we really loved having you it was a blast!
