Not to mention good music.
First day was more like dance collection, second day was sentimental collection.
Nice splashing and obstacle course!

We had a great time up in Whistler!
Awesome weather, gorgeous lake, and well organized! For those of you who missed it, you need to consider going next year!
Edgewater's Casino Without Warning won the day but I think they lost in the water fights!! Just as they dried off, they got wet again!
Thanks for being such good sports! Congratulations to the Mana Wahine's too! After they won the women's race, they hauled a wakeboarder around the lake and still raced in the Comp B finals!
Thank you to Water's Edge for all the hard work that they put into organizing the festival and beer garden!
Also, to the volunteers! They were friendly and helpful despite standing all day in 31 degree weather.
We'll definitely be back next year!
Last but not least, I would like to thank Starbuck's Waverunners and Kerry for their hospitality this weekend! They brought us up tents, jerseys, food, water, and iced coffee!
We really enjoyed racing with you this weekend and hope to do it again! Next year we're going to crash your dinner party!

It was soooo hot up there, I didn't mind getting soaked
Then again it was hard not to when we were somehow 'set up' to be the middle boat/lane for the obstacle race and then told stay in the boat as the other 2 docked beside us.
Once again, great venue, great weather and well organized. Thanks Water's Edge!

Hhmmm....you're not the poor girl who was trying to pass us the cards, were you? Our lead stroke finally had to stand up at the front of the boat and tell us to grab the cards. I thought he was going to fall in. Sorry, we got a little carried away....
I heard someone yell "CHARGE!"....
By the way....it was all the paddlers from the STARBUCK'S WAVERUNNER team that had the water buckets and jumped out of the boat!!! Blu By U had nothing to do with it!!

I'd echo all the ringing endorsements about Waters Edge, the volunteers the venue, etc. It was just the best event and to be in Whistler on the hottest weekend ever was soooooo cool!
I want to thank Bonnie and Ben for organizing the BS team. Sudden Impact jumped in with E&C and Swordfish and the group was great....truly wonderful people and good times! S.I. members were seen on other crews too: Mana Wahine, CCW and Deep Cove. I love events like this that allow all paddlers to increase their circle of dragon boat friends and just have fun together. It seems like all things came together to make this a truly memorable weekend!
Thanks to everyone who came out and played and to all those who made that possible!

No, I was the drummer for Edgwater. It was a bit chaotic out there. All we heard was "CHARGE!, GET 'EM, and Get the buckets!". One of our paddlers was wondering why we only got 1 small bucket and everyone else had 2 or 3 larger ones...I guess we just didn't clue in.
It was fun all around.
I should have some pics uploaded soon.

Hey gang!
I have only one word for whistler.....HAWT!!!! and also another class DB festival brought to u by Water's Edge!
Had the pleasure of paddling with our SI friends and introducing the teams I coach to what it takes to be a top 10 Alcan team.....I guess we are destined for a bit longer at Rec!
The venue was awesome and the races and events went off with out a hitch.
There was some good racing and interesting challenges in the Obstacle course.
It was the Standard Waters Edge Festival. Kim being toooooooooooo polite at the starting line, The courteous Race marshalls and of Course Puppy being abused by paddlers (nice Choke hold DiggerPig...!)
Plus the nice volunteers and good "birding at the beach"
Here are some pics I took (I am seriously reevaluating lugging that beast around in the heat but someone has to do it!)
Enjoy!
Without Waring won the draw for the Photographers package so I got 300+ pic coming there way!
C ya at Harrison!
Well,, if the Navy isn't around we have to find substitutes!
Race Action on ALta Lake
Acting Mayor dotting the Dragon eye (too hot for robed Taoist monks I guess...)
Hot action in the 5 turn 1000 meter race (they turned at the 200 meter mark!)
This seemed to be the norm for the day....and the winner is.....
Jackie! Courtesy of Puppy (who got his earlier!)
Like a bad western...The Good
The Bad.....
and the Ian....LOL

Puppy abuse, Gang tackled by Team BS
Digger Pig applying the "U ain't going anywhere but Solitary" hold on a hapless Puppy

Hey Lethal Weapon ... who ever filled in for you during that last race did a great job of taking pictures ... I hope
Overall it was a great weekend - Water's Edge is the best!
The location was great, the venue was great, but the scenery was fantastic ... an the Mountain was nice too ...
Any time you can go to an event and toss Kerry into the water is awesome. I hope you bring a change of cloths for Harrison Kerry. SI Black, SI Blue, and hopefully SI Liquid Silver will be out in full force.
Thanks to Ben, Bonnie, Swordfish, and E&C Booze Cruise for the fun weekend. I know Mike wanted to break me and it came close but now it's back to work for Harrison, Vernon, Victoria, and Kelowna.
Final thoughts ... never have Mike (E&C) steer for a 1000 m race unless your only planning to do half a race

Lets just say I am still processing them and suggesting that they stay off caffeinnated beverages and Red bull next time!
We'll give that guy another try in Harrison!
