RGL United is looking for a coach for the upcoming season.
The team currently consists of paddlers with 2 - 10 years of experience. The average age is probably 27 and there are twice as many guys as girls. Last year we finished 16th overall in Alcan, 2nd overall at Taiwanese and 2nd overall in Kelowna. The year before we were 2nd in Comp C, 3rd overall at Taiwanese and 1st in Platinum B in Kelowna.
We practice twice a week. This year practices will be Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings at FCRCC, beginning in March.
In terms of expectations, we would like a coach that has a sound understanding of the technical aspects of paddling. While credentials in coaching / instructing are desirable, they are not required. A larger reliance will be placed on a demonstrated ability to communicate concepts.
