I thought I'd start a new thread on the topic of coach training and certification. There are two parts:
1. Theory - National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP)
2. Practical - Water's Edge, FCRCC, Dragon North, Great White North etc.
The NCCP training is excellent. They teach general coaching skills to be used in any sport. The Level 1 (Intro Part A) and Level 2 (Intro Part B) are very good. Here's the schedule
http://www.coaches.bc.ca/nccp/schedule.htmlFor the practical (Part 2) Water's Edge offers good courses.
The theory and practical is what you need to be a certified coach, and even if certification is not your goal they will help you be a better coach.
