This year we have eight teams in the Fort Langley Canoe Club: three once-a-week women's rec teams, three twice-a-week women's teams and two twice-a-week mixed teams.  Two of these teams were new this year, yet some of these teams are 3rd and 4th year teams.  We have a variety of levels of paddlers and teams.  It is unknown at this time if we will have any new teams next year but we have grown very quickly in the last several years.  Though our teams have done well, several of our members would like to paddle on a new competitive team in Fort Langley.  If you can help with the development of a competitive team, that would be great.

The club owns two 6/16 that are on the water from April to September and kept in dry storage for the balance of the year.  We have use of a BUK that we kept on the water last winter and will do so again this year.  We also purchased our first OC6 and there has been shown a great interest to paddle it through the winter.  We do not paddle after dark due to lack of lighting on the river so are limited by daylight hours during the winter.

If you are interested in coaching any level of team(s) in Fort Langley please contact me.  The teams are starting to get prepared for next year now.

Are you still looking for dragon boat coaches?  I am available and willing to coach in the Fort Langley area.

I paddled with Kindred Spirit 2006 in Fort Langley.

You can reply to me at [email protected] or at [email protected].

Hi there.

I would be interested in coaching any of your teams.  I live in Maple Ridge so it's just a quick hop across the Albion Ferry for me to get to you.

I have coached Dragon Boat for three years and paddled/steered for four years.  Please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] so I can give you a more in depth history of my paddling a coaching experience.

Thanks,

Brenda you rock! I am amazed even after having a child that you can get back into it so soon!

I am still going down to Vancouver for the same crew for a 4th consecutive year if you can believe it. And Fort Langley, you better get this woman soon before somebody else does. She does know her stuff even as a steersperson!  Laughing (Inside joke between Brenda and me.)

Teamwork is so important that it is virtually impossible for the team to reach the heights of it's capabilities or achieve winning results without becoming very good at it. You must practice TEAMWORK as a team, not as individuals!

Thanks Bernie!!  I decided not to go back to work downtown so now I need a job coaching.  Besides, I need to stay on the water so we can battle again at PFK!!  Mwwwwaaaahhhhhh.
