The message is a little cryptic on the FCRCC site... I was looking for more clarification and hopefully some official result listings on the Aussie site.

Who won the 1000m race?  women's?  senior masters women?   premier mixed?
Premier Mix won gold in the 2000m
Premier Men's placed 5th in the 1000m

It would be interesting to also see how other countries are placing.

I see what you mean. I think Andrea or someone will be sending more info soon. The race organizers don't seem to be very efficient at posting the results so you may see them here before you see them on the race website.

Dragon Boat Forum on the east coast seems to be doing better at posting results.

So... could you post a link for us  westies then?   Confused
I'm stoked to see the results.

And I'm hoping to see similar Canuck results from our teams heading to San Fran this weekend as well. Our Canadian medal sweep last year at San Fran set the bar high... What will happen this year???

From the Oz web site (Dragons Down Under):

Thursday, 20th Sept
    * 1000m Races - All Divisions - Open & Womens Classes
    * 2000m Finals - All Divisions (4) - Mixed Competitions

Friday, 21st Sept
    * 500m Races - All Divisions - Mixed Competitions
    * 2000m Finals - All Divisions - Open (4) and Premier Women

Saturday, 22nd Sept
    * 200m Races - All Divisions - Open, Women and Mixed Competitions

Sunday, 23rd Sept
    * 500m Races - All Divisions - Open and Womens Competitions

===========

Summary of the Team Canuck Thursday finals (only), from the Race Results page (see 1_With's mesg):

- Senior Women 1K: 1st
- Junior Open 1K: 3rd (A crew), 6th (B crew)
- Premier Women 1K: 1st
- Premier Open 1K: 5th
- Grand Dragon Mixed 2K: 2nd
- Senior Mixed 2K: 1st (A crew), 2nd (B crew - who also got a 5 sec penalty!)
- Junior Mixed 2K: 2nd (B crew), 3rd (A crew)
- Premier Mixed 2K: 1st
- Grand Dragons Open 1K: 1st

All but the G-D Open 1K were the usual Heats ... Finals sequence (some also had Repechage &/or a Semi).  The G-D-O 1K was the sum of the best times from 2 of  3 Rounds ... but Canada won all 3, so ...

Not maybe obvious from the above ... those were ALL of the Finals (aka "Grand Final" or "Championship", depending on division) in those divisions.  Meaning Canada was in EVERY one of Thursday's 9 Finals, folks!!!

 ... and won 5, were 2nd in 2, 3rd in another (plus an additional 2nd & 3rd & 6th, where there were two Canada crews).

The only downer was the 5th in Premier Open 1K.  The FCRCC guys were some bummed-out by that, according to Andrea Dillon's note on the FCRCC web site - they were ~ 4.4 secs back of the winning US Team.  But the guys came right back, 4 races later, to help win the Premier Mixed 2K.

Zowie!

And Friday?  A whole lot more Oh Canada!!

... Canucks everywhere you look, in every final race ...

Out of three 500 metre Grand Finals (Mixed - Junior, Senior, Premier), three 2K Champs (Mixed - Junior, Senior, Grand Dragon), and one "best 2-of-3 times sum" 500m (GD Mixed):

Junior Mixed 500m: 2nd (A crew) & 3rd (B crew)
Senior Mixed 500m: 1st (A crew), 2nd (B crew)
Premier Mixed 500m: 2nd
Junior Open 2K: 2nd (B crew), 3rd (A crew)
Grand Dragons Open 2K: 1st
Senior Open 2K: 1st (with a 5 sec penalty - but they were still 24 secs ahead!)

(there are 2 more races on the Fri sched: Prem Open & Women 2K - but no results are yet posted)

Plus the GD Mixed crew won all 3 Rounds of the best-2-of-3: another Gold.

Double Zowie!!   Very Happy

======

One grouch on that Network54  DB forum in Eastern Canada has been yapping about "these aren't the best paddlers (ours or other countries') ... too expensive to go to Oz ... wrong time of year", yadda-yadda.

Weeellll ...

Let's see.  500 metres is the distance most of us "regular" DB folks can relate to.  We know our own PB times - and how hard it is to get to the magical "2 minutes" ... or even to shave even 1 second off our PBs.

The fastest 500m time on Friday - across all races, all divisons - was the Yanks, in the Premier Mixed final.  But none of the teams in that race were what you could call slugs:

U.S. 1:53.16, Can 1:53.67, Aus 1:53.83, China 1:54.20, Ger 1:54.88, Macau 1:55.14
(just found a place with a mess of pix - check out this one, & several either side, for that race: close!)
http://www.evansalbum.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=28&g2_itemId=1767

In the Senior Mixed final, it was a hair slower (Canada A 1:55.05) - but all 6 boats were still under 2 mins.

In the Junior Mix Final: 1:58.28 for Germany, 2:00.84 & 2:02.52 for Canada A & B, down to the Kiwis in 6th at 2:03.95.

The Canuck GD Mixed's 3 race times were 1:59.96, 2:01.62 & 2:01.37.

2 minutes plus or minus times all over elsewhere on the Friday timesheets, too - Heats, Semis, Reps, Finals.

Hmmmmm ..... seems obvious to me that these are The Best Paddlers, bud!!

WOOHOO!!!  GO CANADA GO!!!  I believe the west coast is representing our country just fine.  I can't believe that another fellow canadian from the East can't even be proud about that.  No Class at all...
