The Freedom Dragons, Portland Oregon, have a couple of benches left for the Victoria race August 18-19. We could use your help if you have any paddlers that would be interested in racing with a rec team. We brought home Silver in the Pearl division and hope to do even better this year.

Please pass this on to your teammates. We are looking for help with this race only. Due to injuries and changing work schedules, our roster is a bit thin. No paddler should sit out more than one race. The key info is below

Basic Details
Travel: Carpool to Port Angeles
Ferry to Victoria, most people are returning Monday (2pm fast ferry) afternoon.
Fast Ferry Reservation Site: http://www.victoriaexpress.com/welcome.html
Slow Ferry Reservation Site: http://www.cohoferry.com/
Rooms: Sharing at the Grand Pacific (199 CDB/night split by room occupants)
Race Fees: $53/paddler
Jersey: Price TBD
Team Dinner: Friday night. Weekend briefing & wrist band pass out
Air Band Contest: We've entered, you're more than welcome to join us on stage
Practice: Freedom Dragons practice – Hit the water with us before Victoria to get the feel of our race style and team.
        Mon: 6:40 pm - 8:15 pm
        Weds: 6:40 pm - 8:15 pm
        Sat: 9:10 am - 10:45 am

So if you'd like to race with us, shoot me a note at my team email, [email protected]

Thanks,
Sandy

Hey Sandy,

Are you looking for female or male paddlers?  I've sent the post to our Blue team paddlers as they will not be going.  Our Black team will be there so hopefully we can get some of our rec paddlers to come along and give you a hand.

Digger,

Thanks so much. We paddle mixed, so either are fine. We are no where near maxing on the male count for our roster.

We're more interested in finding good seasoned paddlers that have a desire to win and aren't afraid of the beer garden.

Thanks,
Sandy
